My brother John and I discussed the classic buddy cop movie Lethal Weapon. We also somehow ended up discussing Mad Men at length. Don't worry, though, if you don't want to listen to our Mad Men discussion I moved it to the end of the episode. If you would like to listen to our Mad Men discussion, wait until the outro music finishes. You can listen to the episode here.

Good show guys! While I like Shane Black’s witty banter, I did not think The Last Boy Scout was as good as people credit it for being. It is fun, but a pretty standard action flick in my opinion. I think it is one of those films that receives more recognition now that Kiss Kiss Bang Bang is such a cult hit.
As for Lethal Weapon, I find that the films are starting to blend together for me as well. The one scene I always found odd was the final fight scene in Lethal Weapon 2. It is rather hard to believe that the cops would let Riggs and a suspect fight one-on-one in the pouring rain. The villain is clearly one LAPD lawsuit away from freedom in the scene. :)
Oh yeah, I can't believe I forgot to mention the final fight between Riggs and Gary Busey. One of my favorite bits of unreality from the movie.
I'm one of those people that digs LW2 more than 1, most likely because it was the one I saw first (and have seen a lot more of). Still, the characters of Riggs and Murtaugh (especially Riggs) are strongest and most clearly defined in the first.
The Last Boy Scout is not actually great, but it is a lot of fun. Solid character actors all-around (I love Taylor Negron), a goofy premise, a hot Berry and Willis all drunk makes for awesome viewing.
Yeah, I really gotta get around to watching the Lethal Weapon sequels.
