Roger Snead and I spend a good portion of our discussion professing our mutual love for Kevin Bacon and Paul Verhoeven, mostly as a way to avoid discussing the underwhelming Hollow Man. You can listen to the episode here.
Taken – I still love the film, watched it again recently and it still holds ups for me. Sure it is fluff but it was entertaining non-the less.
24 – While I was a big fan of the show, seasons 1, and 4 are all you really need to see.
Hollow Man – Completely agree that Kevin Bacon is an awesome actor. I think you guys should definitely do a Wild Things episode in the future if you have not done one already. In regards to Hollow Man, the film does not work for me. My main issue with Hollow Man is that Bacon becomes somewhat superhuman in the last act. If you think about it, the experiment merely makes him invisible. They give no context to him being indestructible. I have issues with films, say Orphan or The Stepfather for example, that takes regular people and makes them extremely hard to kill in the final act. It would have been different had the film established that Bacon gained other abilities besides merely being invisible.
When the highlight of your film is seeing Rhona Mitra naked, you might have a problem.
Actually, that's not true at all. Mitra is hot as shit. The problem is that she's only in it for about five minutes and is the best part of the film.
Hollow Man sucks, for sure, but at the same time, I kinda wanna watch its shittiness again. I'd somehow forgotten that is was a Verhoeven flick to begin with, which helps. It devolves way too quickly and is overly stupid, but any film where Liz Shue plays a scientist is a-ok in my book (next up: The Saint!). Seriously, though, it's got a fun cast, and you guy hit the nail on the head with Bacon's appeal/talents. He elevates shit by knowing it's shit and playing that angle up but can turn on the serious chops when necessary. Also doesn't hurt that he can play any shade of good to evil.
Roger and I plan on doing a Taken episode at some point. We had a bit of an argument when I wrote my review trashing it. I think it's probably something I've come around on, though.
I'd love to do a Wild Things episode. I'm sure Roger would too.

Thanks for the great comments, both of you.

In summation, Kevin Bacon is awesome.
I would be 100% on board for a Wild Things ep as well. What a fucking fun movie that is.
